“You may not be perfect, but you’re going to be amazing.”
Aerial Fit is a warm, welcoming environment. You may be nervous coming to your first class but don’t worry, every single person in the room will have been in your shoes. You are going to be in good company. Really, all you need to do is show up and we’ll take care of you.
Useful Tips
Here are some nitty-gritty details to make your first class super awesome.
What to wear:
Everyone has their favorite training clothes, but aerial activity requires certain apparel. You should wear either form fitting leggings, tights or yoga pants that fully cover the backs of the knees (capri or full length works great). No zippers, snaps or sequins are allowed on the apparatuses as they will cause damage. You’ll need your armpits and waist covered, so wear a form fitting top that covers your arms pits and waist and is tight enough that it won’t fall over your face if you hang upside down. Read more about what to wear.
Try to avoid applying moisturizer to your hands or ankles too soon to class time. It will make you slippery on the apparatuses.
Driving directions:
Aerial Fit shows up correctly in GPS and map apps. Our road, 5th avenue, is very residential looking with live oaks and Spanish moss hanging from the branches. Sometimes new students second guess the directions when they make the last turn. Don’t worry, we are in a big steel warehouse building on a very pretty little road.
Sometimes traffic can make turning in and out of our road a little challenging. There are some simple routes to avoid tough turns. Check out a map and you’ll find them pretty quickly. You can always make the turn into our neighborhood at the traffic light at Sycamore Avenue and St. Andrews Blvd.
Parking:
We share the building with an ambulance transport company called Family Medical Transport. First of all, don’t panic when you see an ambulance or two parked out front. Everything is OK. We get use of half the parking lot including the grassy area. Please avoid parking near the far side of the building among the ambulances. There is additional parking available in the grassy area in the Taco Bell and Pizza Hut parking lot. Access to this lot is from St. Andrews Blvd.
When to arrive:
Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes early for your first class. We have waiver and registration forms that need to be filled out and every student that is new to Aerial Fit gets a brief safety orientation before class starts. New students that arrive at or after class start time will likely not be able to participate in class.
Waiver and registration:
When you arrive for your first class, you will need to fill out our waiver and registration forms. You can also fill them out ahead of time by downloading the forms.
Students under 18 years of age: Students that are not yet 18 years old will need their forms signed by a parent or legal guardian. We are strict about this policy and students without signed forms will not be allowed in the training area. All of the information should be the student’s information with the parent or legal guardian signature at the bottom. Please note both forms must be signed.
Class cancellation:
For our regularly scheduled classes you can log into your account and cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance so that someone else can take your place. If you cancel 24 hours in advance, your class will be returned to your pass. You will not be able to cancel your reservation within 24 hours of your class time, and will lose that class. This allows us to keep our class sizes small and our instructors awesome, and to offer a full well-rounded schedule. Please plan accordingly.
For private lessons, group events, workshops or series classes please refer to our cancellation policy page.
