That all depends on you. Here are some general guidelines.
Drop-in friendly classes are a great way to test the waters, and require no commitment beyond one class. These classes include Aerial Yoga, Beginner Aerial Skills Classes like Aerial Silks, Sling, Trapeze, and Hoop, and Handbalancing & Acro. These classes are good for anyone with or without aerial experience.
Member Classes are for serious learners who want to dive into learning skills on the apparatuses. As you progress in classes you may choose to advance through our leveling system to learn more complex skills. These classes include Aerial Silks, Aerial Slings, Trapeze, and Aerial Hoop.
Intro to Aerial Series is a great fast-track into our member classes. This 10-week series takes the beginner through all of the apparatuses we teach, and sets a strong foundation for aerial work.
Many of our classes are Drop-in friendly
with advance registration, to accommodate the reality of people’s changing schedules. Drop-in-friendly classes are color-coded green on the schedule. In beginner classes we focus on aerial fundamentals like conditioning, positioning, footlocks, climbing, basic mounts and dismounts, etc. All classes focus on building body awareness, mental focus, strength, and flexibility.
Member classes do require a commitment, but you can mix and match those classes as you like. The more you come to the same class each week the more progress you will make, however, we have many students with changing schedules who also do great.
Series classes are offered occasionally for those who prefer the most structure. Obviously the more consistent you are with your practice, the more benefit you will receive.
You must reserve your spot in advance since space is limited in each class. Advance payment is required to hold your spot. Click here for pricing.
When reserving a class, you will be asked to create an account if you haven’t already. Creating an account will allow you to check the status of your pass and reserve new classes in the future. If you prefer to make a reservation over the phone, you may contact us. Please note that we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you have reserved a class and must cancel, you must cancel online through our system, or in writing by email, at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. This gives us enough time to open your spot up to other students.
No problem, just please note that we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you have reserved a class and must cancel, you must cancel online through this system at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. This gives us enough time to open your spot up to other students.
If you need to miss a class in a series that you have signed up for, the same cancellation policy applies. Please note that we allow one make-up class per 4-week series. (If you are on an unlimited pass and miss the 24 hour cancellation window, one day will be subtracted from your pass.)
Wear comfortable form-fitting clothing that covers the armpits and knees. As you progress in classes you’ll find that wearing a leotard or unitard for waist protection is useful, however it is not required to start. You’ll be required to remove all sharp jewelry from the hands, fingers, and wrists as it can damage the apparatus and your hands. Please avoid wearing perfume, and avoid wearing moisturizer. Substances like this will linger on the fabric, and moisturizer will make you slippery.
We take safety very seriously. We keep our classes small so that each student can receive the individual attention and spotting they deserve. Aerial Yoga classes are conducted very close to the ground, so that you can always reach out and touch the ground. Our skills classes are conducted at heights that make sense for the student level in the class and the skill being taught. All skills are taught low to the ground first, until strength and technique progress to the point of safely being able to take the skill higher. Keep in mind that most aerial skills can be enjoyed at low heights and beautiful choreography can be created at any height.
Open practice is an opportunity for member students to practice skills they have learned in class. Open practice is supervised and instructors are available to answer questions and provide spotting, however new skills will not be taught. To attend open practice you must be a current member of Aerial Fit (visiting aerialists may contact us), and you must agree to only work on skills you have learned in class (if you’ve seen a skill on YouTube that you would like to learn, ask your instructor in advance so they may consider working it into the class curriculum. Please do not try to teach yourself (or others!) during open practice). Reservations are strongly recommended.

Regular adult classes are for those age 16 and up. It is never too late to start an aerial practice; in fact we have regular students well into their 60’s who get benefit from these classes.
Kids classes are geared to children age 7 – 10, and Teens & Tweens classes for ages 11-15. Mature students (12 and up) may sometimes be accepted into an adult class with advance permission. We are always willing to add additional classes to the schedule based on demand, so if you have a child or teen who is interested in aerial please let us know.
Anyone under the age of 18 must have a legal parent or guardian’s signature on their registration form/waiver. If you need a copy of the form sent to you in advance, let us know.
